About Our Church and Ministry

Sunday Worsip

Every Sunday, 10am

Our multi-cultural, inter-generational, inclusive and welcoming Church meets on a Sunday Morning for a 10am start.  Get here a little early for fellowship and coffee!

We share in various styles of music and worship and Pastor Fa’atafa Fulumu’a leads us in reflecting on the Word of God.

We broadcast our worship services live on our Youtube channel and Facebook Page, and on our website at live.umcjuneau.church so all our members can join with us, and we record for later viewing during the week for those unable to attend on Sundays.

Our Tech team works hard to create a space that we are all able to worship together in person and online.
We hope you join us soon!

Adult Study

Every Sunday, 11:15am

Through out the year, David Means, a Lay Leader for Aldersgate, leads various Bible and book studies focusing on what it means to be a Christian in daily life.

The Adult Study group meets at 11:15am in the Aldersgate Fellowship Hall. All are welcome to attend!

Youth Group

Every Tuesday, 6:00pm

Our young people from elementary school to high school age meet on Tuesday for a short lesson, a meal and plenty of fun and games.

We always appreciate additional help and welcome kids to come join in the fun!

A small group meets at Donna’s restaurant weekly at 11:00 am to share fellowship and enjoy food together.

Music Team Practice

Monthly Potlucks

Last Sunday of each month, 11:15am

Bring a favorite food to share or just bring your appetite. All are welcome!!

Serving Dinner with the Caring Canteen

Every 4th or 5th Tuesday, 5-7pm

A collaborative ministry with other valley churches, the Caring Canteen utilizes the Salvation Army Incident Response van, stationed in the Aldersgate Parking Lot, to provide a hot meal for the Chinook Apartments neighborhood across from us on Cinema Drive.

We are on a regular schedule with the other churches which works out to every 4-5 weeks.

Contact Melanie if you are interested in helping out.

Serving Dinner at the Glory Hall

Every 3rd Saturday, 4-7pm

Every month, a team of our members cook and serve dinner at the Glory Hall homeless shelter, here in the Juneau Valley. The Glory Hall is Juneau’s emergency shelter and soup kitchen, providing three meals a day and shelter for those experiencing homelessness or crisis.

Volunteers are always needed both to assist in cooking and to lead (prepare a recipe/organize volunteers).  Aldersgate has a community fund that members contribute to, and teams are welcome to utilize this fund to provide dinner for 80-100 people depending on season.

Volunteers usually cook from 4-6 PM and serve from 6-7.

Contact Carol May if you are interested in helping out or contributing to this much-needed ministry.
